Aurora photographer Michael Hanson’s images of Waimea Canyon are featured in the November issue of Continental Airline’s in-flight magazine to illustrate an eight-page travel article about inland adventure on Kauai. Also known as “the Grand Canyon of the Pacific”, Waimea Canyon is relatively easy to access at the rim, but the article suggests the best way to experience it is to hike straight down for a view from below.

“It was my first trip to Hawaii and since I usually prefer mountains to beaches, I was excited to see the inland canyons of the island. That being said, I did get a little time to surf and enjoy the beach,” says Hanson.
